Mammography diagnostic technology to detect cancer in dense breasts is more difficult because cancer and dense tissue both appear white on a mammogram. Women with dense breasts are at a higher risk for cancer and should not be discriminated against by lack of health insurance coverage parity or lack of appropriate imaging to diagnose early breast cancer.
