We need a strong push from advocates to keep Child Tax Credit (CTC) expansion front and center as the Senate considers the bipartisan Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. The House recently passed this bill, which would increase the CTC for 80% of low-income families who do not currently receive the full credit and would lift an estimated 400,000 children out of poverty in tax year 2023. The expanded CTC - originally enacted as a part of the 2021 American Rescue Plan - was transformational for families across the country by providing an income boost that allowed them to put food on the table and make ends meet. Now the Senate needs to hear from you today about why reinstating the CTC should be a priority this year!
Please take a moment to send our pre-drafted email to your Senators and request that they include a permanent expansion of CTC in the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. If this is your first time taking action here, please enter your contact information so that we can locate your Senators. After that, the pre-drafted email will appear, and all you have to do is click "Send". It's that easy.
