Support H.R.2576, Servicemembers and Veterans Empowerment and Support Act of 2025
Military Sexual Trauma (MST) continues to affect both servicemembers and veterans at alarming rates. According to the VA’s 2025 screening data, one in three women and one in fifty men report experiencing MST when screened by their VA provider.

To better support survivors, Congress has introduced companion bills, S. 1245 in the Senate and H.R. 2576 in the House, both titled the Servicemembers and Veterans Empowerment and Support Act of 2025. These bipartisan measures take meaningful steps to improve care and justice for MST survivors by amending Title 38 of the U.S. Code.

If enacted, this legislation will:

  • Clarify and standardize the definition of Military Sexual Trauma.
  • Improve how MST-related claims are reviewed and processed.
  • Expand access to MST counseling and treatment for all eligible veterans.
