Dear Member of Congress:

I ask that you conduct a comprehensive hearing that focuses on the critical issues surrounding veterans' mental health. Specifically:

1. Access to Mental Health Services: We need to ensure that veterans have timely and effective access to mental health resources, as barriers to these services can exacerbate feelings of isolation and despair.

2. Interactions Between Frontline Employees and Veterans: It is essential to examine how frontline workers engage with veterans, as poor interactions can lead to misunderstandings and a lack of trust in the system.

3. Utilization of Physician Assistants in Mental Health: We must explore the reasons behind the current restrictions on the use of physician assistants in the mental health field within the Veterans Administration. Their expertise could significantly enhance the quality of care provided to our veterans.

These issues are interconnected and contribute to the ongoing suicide epidemic among our brave servicemen and women. It is crucial that we advocate for change, accountability, and improved policies that prioritize the mental health of our veterans.

Thank you for your commitment to our veterans and for standing up for those who have served our nation.

Sincerely,
