On October 21st, the Senate Agriculture Committee reported S.1462, the Fix Our Forests Act, favorably out of the Committee with a bipartisan vote. The Fix Our Forests Act, introduced in the Senate by SCI Legislator of the Year Senator John Curtis (UT), Senator Tim Sheehy (MT), Senator Alex Padilla (CA), and Senator John Hickenlooper (CO), makes broad reforms to forest management by expanding access to public lands, supporting science-based wildlife management, fostering greater collaboration between federal, state, and local governments, and limiting frivolous lawsuits that prevent effective and timely management.
This bill represents a huge step in the right direction to improve the health of our forests and the ecosystems that rely on them. Let your Senators know that you support the Fix Our Forests Act and urge them to VOTE YES on the bill!
