National PTA needs your voice today to tell Congress that public funds belong in public schools! Join PTA in reminding our members of Congress that public dollars are critical to providing essential educational services and resources that serve schools, students, and families across our nation. Keeping public funds in public schools ensures public access, governance, and accountability.
That is why it is now more critical than ever to urge your members of Congress to co-sponsor and pass the Keep Public Funds in Public Schools Act introduced in the Senate as S. 4297 and soon-to-be introduced in the House. This legislation would repeal the national tax-credit voucher program established last year that is scheduled to launch in January 2027. If it proceeds, the program will siphon billions in public dollars away from benefiting public schools toward private school vouchers and other forms of private educational aid provided by Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs), ultimately costing our public schools, as well as the families and communities that rely on them, valuable publicly funded resources. Join PTA in sending a message to your members of Congress today!
