WAS Scheduled for a Committee Hearing on Monday, April 28.
Take Action Now - H.B. 1308 Deserves a Hearing!
Promoting a fair and just employment landscape through E-Verify helps protect Texas workers from the consequences of mass migration felt throughout the nation's labor market.
Expanding E-Verify to all private businesses that employ more than 25 individuals in Texas is a step in the right direction, deterring illegal hiring and fostering recruitment from and investment in The Lone Star State's legal workforce.

Now is the time to remind your state Representatives that you expect them to expand the Lone Star State's current E-Verify mandate THIS YEAR!
Most companies in Texas want to do the right thing! Yet, they are undercut by unscrupulous businesses (and their lobbyists) that unfairly thrive on cheap, easily exploitable illegal labor. This process harms legal workers and lowers Americans’ wages.
E-Verify will level that playing field!
There is no excuse for allowing employers to hire illegal aliens in Texas, especially since it makes the state a magnet for the millions of recent illegal border-crossers. On that topic, one study showed that passing or expanding E-Verify requirements and turning off the jobs magnet in a state could reduce that state’s illegal alien population by up to 83%.
Use the Action Portion on this page to contact your Texas Representative!
If your State Rep. is a House State Affairs Committee member, tell them you expect them to support E-Verify through H.B. 1308, and move this bill out of the Committee and onto the entire House floor.
If your Rep. is not on the committee, tell them you expect them to stand up for Texas workers and their communities by supporting and voting in favor of H.B. 1308 once the bill leaves Committee!
(Don't worry; our system will determine if your Rep. is on the Committee and only show you messages appropriate for your elected official!)
Tell your Representative: "Expanding E-Verify is Right for The Lone Star State!"
