Ask Governor Murphy to Increase Nonpublic School Nursing Services Funding
The allocation for nonpublic school nursing services continues to be underfunded.  The allocations for nursing services have not kept up with the additional legislative requirements that school nurses must perform, including the administration of certain medications and their roles as first responders in a school emergency.  Additionally, the per-pupil amount currently available for state-funded nurses does not attract sufficient nurses to cover nonpublic school positions and many nursing positions remain vacant.
