This important legislation would address upcoming Medicare Part D drug pricing changes that will impact the quality of care for seniors in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other long-term care settings. That’s why we must take action now to protect patient access to LTC pharmacies and support our long-term care partners.
This critical bipartisan legislation sponsored by Reps. Beth Van Duyne (R-Texas) and Brad Schneider (D-Ill.) in the House and Sens. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) in the Senate would establish a targeted $30 supplemental supply fee on prescription drugs subject to Medicare-negotiated prices. Modeled after an existing Medicare Part B supply fee, this provision will help offset significant financial losses and ensure LTC pharmacies can continue providing essential services. Without timely relief, many LTC pharmacies across the country could be forced to close, cutting off seniors’ access to essential medications and specialized pharmacy services.
We need your help now to build support for this legislation and ensure it passes before the end of the year.
Thank you for taking action and protecting the patients who depend on LTC pharmacy services.
