Urge New York Governor to VETO Assisted Suicide Bill
An assisted suicide bill has passed both chambers of the New York State legislature. If it becomes law, it will be devastating for New York.

But it will also affect us here in Connecticut. It will increase the pressure to legalize assisted suicide in Connecticut. And because the New York bill has no residency requirement, it is likely that some Connecticut residents in dire need of support will instead be encouraged to go to New York to take their own lives.

FIC might be able to help stop assisted suicide in our neighboring state--with your support. Our only hope is for New York Governor Kathy Hochul to veto the bill.

Bill A136 will allow physicians to prescribe lethal doses of medication for the express purpose of ending a patient’s life. Governor Hochul needs to know that citizens in her neighboring state stand with her pro-life constituents, if we hope to avoid yet another assault on human life in the Northeast. Assisted suicide is dangerous for patients, caregivers, and vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and people with disabilities. Suicide is not medical care.

Contact Governor Hochul’s office today to voice your opposition on this dangerous and deadly practice!
