American Diabetes Association
Help the ADA protect health insurance access

Congress is considering extending tax credits that make health insurance coverage more affordable for millions of working Americans. Unless Congress acts soon, these credits will expire on December 31, 2025, and millions of people with diabetes will face steep premium increases or lose coverage entirely in 2026. Please contact your members of Congress today and:

  • Urge them to extend the enhanced premium tax credits beyond 2025 and make them permanent. Losing coverage or seeing higher premiums would disproportionately affect people with diabetes—leading to delayed care, poor health, and increased medical costs.
  • Stress the importance of keeping coverage affordable for people with diabetes so they can access the care they need. If Congress fails to act, premiums will, on average, increase by nearly $3,000 per year for individuals and significantly more for working families.
