As you may know, states across the nation are taking action to ensure coverage of anti-obesity medications, such as GLP-1s, to combat obesity and prevent more costly conditions like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease. Unfortunately, in the recently enacted state budget, the State of Michigan disclosed plans to severely limit Medicaid recipients’ access to highly effective GLP-1 medications to only those with severe obesity. 

Take action! Send a quick note to Governor Whitmer and your state legislators to urge them to protect access and make obesity treatment and prevention a priority!
