Stop the Backdoor Legalization of Marijuana
The SAFER Banking Act seeks to provide a “safe harbor” that is anything but safe...and is about to get a vote in the United States Senate.

The bill is a backdoor piece of legislation to legalize the production and sale of marijuana. In doing so, it compromises the integrity of the U.S. banking system by giving approval for banks to participate in the illegal activity known as money laundering.

Today’s marijuana is much more powerful than in the past and has an addiction rate of 30%. SAFER Banking will only worsen the mental health damage caused by marijuana to youth, as the industry will use new investments to bring in new users.

A 2020 study found that rates of Cannabis Use Disorder (marijuana addiction) among children aged 12-17 increase 25% after recreational marijuana legalization laws take effect. Other data also confirms that there is an association between recreational legalization and youth drug use.

CatholicVote is urging all Americans to contact their U.S. Senators to oppose The SAFER Banking Act!
