Members of Maryland's budget committees are finalizing their recommendations for the FY2026 budget and cuts to behavioral health are very much still in play!
We anticipate budget decisions could be announced by the end of this week. Contact your legislators and tell them to support behavioral health by REJECTING cuts to care. This is a NEW alert, so please take action even if you participated in previous alerts.
What's at stake:
- DLS has recommended a 5% cut to child welfare rate reform and is recommending eliminating the 1% provider rate increase.
- Language in the BRFA removes the obligation for Maryland's health department to accept more than $900,000 in federal dollars awarded in the CCBHC planning grant and removes the requirement for Maryland to apply for a demonstration grant in FY26. The future of Maryland's CCBHCs are at risk
Contact your legislators TODAY and tell them - NO CUTS TO CARE!
