Tell Congress to Address Impending Medicare Part B Payment Cuts to Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Services
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized a 2.8% cut to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) Conversion Factor (CF) for 2025, which impacts payment rates for all physician and nonphysician services reimbursed under Medicare Part B.

Audiologists and SLPs are facing unsustainable declines in Medicare Part B payment rates due to arbitrary cuts that Congress and regulators have put into place over the years. The cumulative impact of multiple reductions to Medicare provider payments—stemming from a budget neutrality requirement in the MPFS, congressionally-implemented budget control mechanisms, and a lack of inflationary updates— creates unsustainably low payment rates for clinicians and limits access for beneficiaries, ultimately resulting in higher health care costs. If Congress does not act, these combined cuts threaten to reduce payment by 8.8% in 2025.

Congress must protect beneficiary access to essential audiology and speech-language pathology services by passing H.R. 10073, the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act, which would provide a 4.7% positive update to Medicare provider payments in 2025.
