The Ohio Council of Local Sections of the American Society of Civil Engineers unveiled the 2025 Ohio Report Card, covering 17 infrastructure categories, and giving the state's infrastructure an overall grade of ‘C.’ The ‘C’ grade is on par with the national grade of ‘C’ on the 2025 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, which was just released in March. The 2025 grade shows that Ohio’s infrastructure is performing adequately and meeting current needs, but investments must be made to ensure a more prosperous and secure future for Ohio residents and businesses.

The 2025 Ohio Report Card provides insight needed to start conversations and ignite action to improve the 2025 grades and, as a result, the state’s future by:

• Increasing investment across all infrastructure sectors to address maintenance backlogs, modernize aging systems, and meet future demands;
• Ensuring safety as a fundamental priority across all infrastructure systems;
• Accelerating efforts to improve the resilience of its infrastructure to withstand climate-related threats and other hazards;
• Integrating new and emerging technologies across infrastructure sectors to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance; and
• Designing and upgrading infrastructure systems to meet current and future demand and accommodate changing usage patterns and support economic growth.
