ABC needs your help to tell Congress to support the Fair and Open Competition Act ahead of its introduction in the 119th Congress. FOCA will protect federal and federally assisted construction contracts from government-mandated project labor agreements and will allow merit shop contractors to have a fair chance at competing to build and rebuild America.

Increasing the number of original co-sponsors for FOCA’s introduction will send a strong message to the Trump administration that Congress recognizes the need to encourage all qualified contractors and their skilled workforce to compete to build long-lasting, quality projects at the best price.

On Jan. 9, ABC led 24 construction and business groups in a letter to President Donald Trump in opposition to President Joe Biden’s Executive Order 14063 and subsequent final rule, Use of Project Labor Agreements for Federal Construction Projects, mandating project labor agreements on federal construction projects worth $35 million or more. 

In addition to participating in direct political advocacy to your members of Congress, please note that, by taking action on this alert, the name of your ABC member company will be used on a sign-on letter to Congress and the president so ABC will be able to better advocate for FOCA and against government mandated PLAs.
