There is an epidemic sweeping across the state, costing contractors and taxpayers millions of dollars a year: workers' compensation fraud and staged construction accidents. For years, bad actors have taken advantage of less fortunate individuals to fake construction accidents and make fraudulent workers' compensation claims. They are taking advantage of New York being the only state in the Nation with a Scaffold Law.
