Congress has until the end of January to pass the FY26 budget, and we cannot allow a repeat of 2025. The Trump Administration’s unlawful impoundments and partisan rescissions undermined Congress’ power. Our democracy depends on co-equal branches fulfilling their constitutional duties. Failure to do so breeds instability, distrust, and risks the foundations of our Republic.

As Congress drafts the next budget, it must include safeguards to prevent any Administration from ignoring Congress’ spending directives.
