The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) help tens of millions people each month put food on the table. Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides health coverage for nearly 80 million Americans who cannot afford health insurance. Both programs are vital to communities around the country, particularly rural communities, keeping people fed and healthy.

Despite their importance, House and Senate leaders are moving forward with a budget plan with deep cuts to SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid/CHIP.  They plan to use these cuts to pay for more tax cuts for the wealthy. When the economy is in turmoil, the last thing Congress should be doing is taking health care and food assistance from millions.

Tell your members of Congress to resoundingly reject any plans to cut people's food assistance and health care!
