There is still immense human suffering in Gaza, despite a U.S-backed ceasefire agreement. The Netanyahu government in Israel is restricting access for humanitarian aid groups, so families are still going without food, medicine, and fuel.
More aid is entering Gaza than before, but it is still not enough. Thousands of trucks of aid are ready to be deployed but are stuck behind closed border crossings. It is possible to end one of the direst human-manufactured crises in history. But only if the terms of the ceasefire are honored. Each passing day that aid is restricted is a death sentence for more children and families. Congress needs to send more aid and make sure the aid that’s already there is delivered.
