Your voice is needed
NOW before Congress adjourns on Friday! As you are aware, CMS will cut the conversion factor by -2.83% and take away current telehealth privileges unless Congress passes critical legislation. These unfair cuts to everyone in the medical community exacerbate existing challenges of rising inflation, expenses, and burnout. It also makes it more difficult for patients to access the care they need, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
Please take a few minutes to ask Congress to support several critical legislative measures that must be included in the year-end package before they recess for the holiday. These measures are vital to ensuring fair compensation for healthcare providers, continued access to care for patients, and the efficient delivery of services.
- Increase in Medicare fee schedule payments to ensure fair compensation for physical therapists and other healthcare providers (HR 10073).
- Support the extension of telehealth privileges for Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), which are set to expire on December 31, 2024.
- Stop unnecessary prior authorization by Medicare Advantage plans, which is causing unnecessary delays in patient care. These delays create barriers to timely treatment and result in negative health outcomes for patients (HR 8702 / S 4532).
Congress needs to hear your voice and make healthcare a priority! Please customize your letter to ensure they read why this is important to you, your practice, and to the patients you serve.
