Access to relevant vehicle data is essential for independently owned auto repair shops to repair passenger vehicles safely and efficiently. Automakers are restricting access to vehicle information, which is preventing independent auto repair shops from completing simple repairs. This costs small independent repair shops and consumers valuable time and money. 

Take action now to ask your representatives to support the  REPAIR (Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair) Act which would stop this anticompetitive behavior!

If the REPAIR Act is passed and signed into law:

• Independently owned auto repair shops would be guaranteed access to vehicle repair and maintenance information.
• Vehicle owners would be notified by manufacturers if owner data is generated; data would be shared with the vehicle owner.
• Consumers would be able to petition the FTC if an automaker is not in compliance with the REPAIR Act.
