Tell Your Lawmakers to Fix Texas's Broken SNAP System
Right now, thousands of eligible Texans are waiting months for food assistance due to outdated, inefficient processes at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). There’s a simple, proven solution: periodic reporting—a streamlined process that reduces unnecessary paperwork, improves efficiency, and saves the state money.

Texas is one of only five states that has not adopted this cost-saving measure. If implemented in Texas, periodic reporting would save $33 million per year. This is a common-sense reform that lawmakers on all sides of the aisle should support.

We cannot allow bureaucratic inefficiencies to keep families from putting food on the table.
