FLOOD TITLES-SECRETARY OF STATE SCALES BACK FLOOD DISCLOSURE MANDATE

SCALED BACK
FLOOD TITLES-SECRETARY OF STATE SCALES BACK FLOOD DISCLOSURE MANDATE
After meeting with IADA, the Secretary of State's Office has agreed to limit its flood disclosure protocol to vehicles that were located in federally-declared disaster areas. All of the Illinois counties were State-declared disaster areas, which means that Natural Disaster Disclosure Statements will no longer be required for vehicles that were located in Illinois flood counties.
The change of policy by the SOS will significantly reduce the paperwork burden for Illinois dealers. However, dealers must still make sure that any vehicle taken in on trade does not appear on the National Insurance Crime Bureau's (NICB) database as known flood damaged vehicles must bear a "Flood" designation on the title. Furthermore, any vehicle that was registered in a location that was declared a federal disaster area as a result of flooding will receive a flood title designation unless accompanied by a signed and notarized natural disaster disclosure statement signed by the previous owner declaring that the vehicle was not in a natural disaster area or was not damaged.
If the Secretary of State's Office sent a title application back to you with a message that it was in a flood zone and that you must complete a Natural Disaster Disclosure Statement, you can resubmit the title application to IADA if the trade-in was titled in Illinois. Vehicles on out of state titles will still need the disclosure statement.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CURIOUS HOW YOUR PAY PLAN AND BENEFITS COMPARE TO OTHER DEALERS IN YOUR REGION?
|
|
|
IADA often receives calls from dealers requesting a salary compensation report. NADA is able to create this report by surveying dealers throughout the nation - but data from Illinois dealers is needed to make the reports most beneficial to our association and individual dealers.
NADA and ATD invite members to participate in the 2016 Dealership Workforce Study, which gathers information to help you compare your dealership against aggregated data from your peers across the nation and region, right down to dealerships selling your brand in your state.
Conducted annually since 2012, the NADA Dealership Workforce Study is the only authoritative and comprehensive examination of car and truck dealership compensation, benefits, turnover and retention, hours of operation and work schedules.
Dealers participate by completing a questionnaire and uploading payroll data. In return, they receive two complimentary reports: A "Custom Report" showing how their own dealerships stack up to comparable dealerships in the region, the nation, the state and the brand, plus a "Trends Report," which is an overall analysis with data for each U.S. region and the country as a whole.
Dealer group and 20 Group comparison reports are also available for purchase by eligible participants.
Participation is free and dealers can learn more about the study at www.nadaworkforcestudy.com. |

OSHA RELEASES ONLINE INJURY REPORTING FORM
|
|
|
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) has released an online form that allows employers to report employee fatalities, hospitalizations, amputations or eye losses, on line. Employers must provide notification to OSHA of fatalities within eight hours and hospitalizations, amputations or eye losses within 24 hours. The rule requiring hospitalization and injury notification took effect on January 1, 2015. Prior to the online form's release, employers were required to make these reports by contacting their OSHA area office or calling the agency at 1-800-321-6742. Employers can still use those options. If you have questions, please contact NADA Regulatory Affairs at 703-821-7040 or regulatoryaffairs@nada.org.
