We are requesting your help immediately. The right of parents to decide if their 5-year-old is ready for school is in jeopardy.
On DATE, the New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee will discuss and possibly vote on a bill that would require students to begin attending school at age 5 instead of age 6. It is crucial that committee members hear from their constituents on this issue.
Action Requested:
If your New Jersey state senator is on the committee (see list below), please call or email today. You can contact them directly from the list or from this campaign.
While taking care to be respectful, your message can be as simple as: “Please oppose Senate Bill 2970. The starting age for compulsory school attendance should not be lowered. Parents know best when their young children’s education should begin. Please protect their freedom to decide.” Or you could write your own message!
Members of the Committee:
Chair Paul A. Sarlo
Vice-Chair Linda R. Greenstein
You can find your legislator here.
Thank you for standing with us for freedom!
