WHAT DOES THIS BILL DO?
H.B. 778 makes two significant changes:
First, it eliminates the requirement for homeschool families to maintain immunization records and make them available.
Second, it removes the requirement regarding housing compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.
Both of these provisions would remain applicable to nonpublic schools but removes them for homeschools. To make this clear, H.B. 778 also creates two separate categories under 20-5-109: section (1) for nonpublic schools and section (2) for homeschools.
