Ask Senators to Allow Payment of Old VA Claims!
U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS), U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), and Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA-1) have introduced the Veterans’ Health Empowerment, Access, Leadership, and Transparency for our Heroes (HEALTH) Act (S.1315) to protect and expand access to care for veterans, safeguard veterans’ ability to choose their own providers, and require VA to improve the quality of care veterans receive.

Currently, home care providers are required to bill the VA for services within 180 days. This legislation would extend timely filing from 180 days to one year.

HCAOA supports this action but is asking lawmakers to amend the bill to include unpaid claims amassed between June 1, 2019 and July 1, 2022 during the transition to the VA Community Care Network (VACCN).

HCAOA is asking that the following language be added to the bill: "There is no filing deadline for claims resulting from services provided from June 1, 2019 to July 1, 2022."
