President Trump signed an executive order titled “Implementing the President’s Department of Government Efficiency Workforce Optimization Initiative.” The purpose of this EO is “To restore accountability to the American public, this order commences a critical transformation of the federal bureaucracy.  By eliminating waste, bloat, and insularity, my Administration will empower American families, workers, taxpayers, and our system of government itself."

The executive order tees up large-scale Reductions in Force (RIFs) and requires that agencies hire no more than one employee for every four employees that depart. We encourage you to send this prepared action letter to your Members of Congress to express concern about the effects, including the potential elimination of thousands of jobs and the anticipated disruption of delivery of the essential services the American people rely on.
