Males Don't Belong in Women's Sports-Even If They Don't Always Win

Nov 27th, 2019

  • Fair competition in women's sports remains under attack as male athletes continue to join and compete on women's teams and against women.

  • Many transgender athletes are still competing in women's sports with significantly higher levels of testosterone than that of biological women.

  • It's a denial of science and shows complete disregard for fairness to say that a male athlete who identifies as female is just the same as the biological females.

Rand Paul Repeatedly Questions Education Nominee On 'Boys Competing With Girls' In Sports

Jemima McEvoy I'm a British-born reporter covering breaking news for Forbes.

In a hearing for President Biden's nominee for education secretary Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) pressed Dr. Miguel Cardona to weigh in on the ongoing debate about how transgender students should compete in sports, describing the concept of students competing with their corresponding gender identity as "bizarre" and repeatedly mislabeling transgender girls as "boys."

In a line of questioning that's since drawn criticism on social media, the Republican senator repeatedly asked  Cardona if he thinks it's fair to have "boys competing with girls," arguing it will "completely destroy girls' athletics."

Paul specifically drew on findings published by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights last spring that stated Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conferences decision to allow transgender female athletes to compete in women's sports violated Title IX.

Transgender athletes don't belong in girls' sports. Let my daughter compete fairly.

If boys identifying as girls left your daughter a spectator in her own sport, wouldn't you speak up?

Over the past few years, athletes, coaches and parents have been watching in disbelief as girls are being replaced on the winner's podium by boys who identify as girls at all levels of competition. It's what prompted Idaho to enact a law to protect female athletes from having their dreams of success on the field taken from them by a male competitor, and it's what prompted the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights to conclude that my home state, Connecticut, is in violation of federal law.

I am the mother of an elite track-and-field athlete in Connecticut. Through our attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom, my daughter, Selina Soule, and I filed suit in February with two other female athletes and their mothers to challenge Connecticut's policy of allowing biological boys to compete in girls' sports. Connecticut is one of at least 17 states that allow this.

IN HONOR OF SUPERBOWL WEEKEND:

8 NFL Stars Who Put Faith Ahead of the Field - Even the Super Bowl

With Super Bowl Sunday just around the corner, we thought we would highlight some of the NFL players who are vocal about their relationship with Jesus and their Christian faith.

Even after a season-ending injury, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott puts his faith in God.

The injury occurred halfway through the third quarter of Dallas' game against the New York Giants midway through the 2020 season.

"What's up everyone, I just wanted everyone to know that I'm doing well," Prescott told fans in an Instagram video. "I can't thank you enough for all your love, your support, your prayers over the last few days. They've been more than overwhelming."

"I'm just excited-excited for God's purpose and plan," Prescott said. "I know it's bigger than anything that I see or I could have imagined, but I'm trusting Him. My faith is doubled down more than ever and I'm thankful that He's my Savior and He guides me in life."

Prescott continued: "I know through Him, all this will be possible and all this will be a great comeback and a great story."
