Your Arizona-ACC Chapter has been working hard with the Arizona Smart Heart Coalition to pass legislation to secure automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in all high school athletic facilities. Senate Bill 1707, introduced by Senator Gowan, will require AEDs to be present or in close proximity to every high school athletic practice or competition.
We need your help!
We know that over 23,000 children under the age of 18 experience cardiac arrest outside a hospital each year in the United States. Almost 40% of these events are sports-related, highlighting the need for athletic facilities to have AEDs on site. Senate Bill 1707 is a step in the right direction and will save lives.
Please take 30 seconds to send an email to your State Representatives and ask them to vote YES on Senate Bill 1707. You also have an opportunity to personalize the email to highlight your experience and any de-identified patient stories you want to share.
