Your WA-ACC Chapter has joined with the Washington State Medical Association and other physician and industry groups to support the Medicaid Access Program, a much-needed proposal to use federal dollars to improve Medicaid reimbursement rates and help improve access to care for our most vulnerable patients.

Introduced as House Bill 1392 and Senate Bill 5372, the Medicaid Access Program will allow more Medicaid patients to get the care they need and increase Medicaid reimbursement rates across all specialties, including cardiology. Washington State’s Medicaid program provides health coverage to nearly one in four Washingtonians. However, as you are aware, it has been decades since the last general Medicaid reimbursement rate increased and now Washington State's reimbursement rates are nearly the lowest in the nation.
