Congress recently introduced legislation to provide relief from the 2.8% cut to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, which took effect on January 1. As you know, Congress did not mitigate the cut in the continuing resolution (CR) that passed at the end of 2024. With the CR and government funding expiring in two months, ACC has played an active role in ensuring that this issue is immediately resolved by regularly meeting with lawmakers sitting on key committees with jurisdiction over health care and partnering with the broader medical community to leverage the value of our collective voice. 

Because of our outreach efforts, physician lawmakers and health care champions in Congress recently introduced the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025 (H.R. 879), reversing the 2.8% cut and providing a 2% update for 2025.
