The Arizona Legislature is playing Monopoly with Your Money!!!
Monopoly utility Arizona Public Service (APS) and it pals in the legislature are fast-tracking a dangerous bill (HB2679) that would shift the utility’s bad investments onto customers like you. In other words, it’s a big APS bailout on the backs of hard-working Arizonans.

HB2679 establishes a new way for APS and other monopoly utilities to pass on the cost of their bad investments onto YOU, the ratepayer. If this pro-monopoly bailout becomes law, you, not utility shareholders, will have to shoulder all the costs when these huge companies retire or transition energy plants. It’s intentionally designed to let APS and other utilities escape financial responsibility for their bad decisions and poor investments.

It’s bad enough that the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) keeps rubberstamping utility rate hikes that have sent your utility bills skyrocketing. HB2679 takes that rigged game to a whole other level.

Please reach out to your state house and senate members, and to Governor Hobbs and tell them to reject this very bad legislation.

You can call the numbers below, or click to the right to send a message to lawmakers and the governor urging them to stand with Arizona consumers—not fat cat monopoly utilities like APS.
