Keep Education Programs in the U.S. Department of Education
Background:  On November 18, the Administration announced six interagency agreements transferring management of most K-12 and postsecondary education programs from the Department of Education to other federal agencies.  K-12 programs sent to the Department of Labor include, among others, Title I grants, Title II Supporting Effective Instruction State Grants, Title III English Language Acquisition State Grants, Title IV-A Student Support and Academic Achievement grants, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Rural School Achievement, Impact Aid, and Homeless Education.

While they have not yet acted on sending the administration of the IDEA, as proposed, to the Department of Health and Human Services, CASE understands that the interagency agreement has been signed and may be announced soon, and is currently being reviewed.  We expect the announcement to come shortly.
