Oppose All Efforts to Decimate the U.S. Department of Education
On Friday the Administration set in motion “reductions in force” (layoffs) that will decimate the U.S. Department of Education, eliminating 466 jobs after a previous reduction earlier in the year.  The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) will be left with only two staff persons to ensure proper implementation of the IDEA through monitoring, technical assistance, and other supports to states and, in turn, to local school districts. Please join CASE in letting your Senators and Representatives know that eliminating well more than half of Department staff since the beginning of this Administration has already seriously impacted and will continue to impede the ability of schools to deliver appropriate services, ensuring all students are successful in school and beyond.
