H.R. 3941 - Schools Not Shelters Act

H.R. 3941 is the Schools Not Shelters Act, introduced in June of 2023 by Rep. Marcus Molinaro.

This bill prohibits using the facilities of certain schools that receive federal financial assistance to provide shelter or housing for any non-U.S. national (alien under federal law) who has not been admitted for lawful entry.

Specifically, this bill shall apply to the facilities of (1) public elementary or secondary schools, and (2) institutions of higher education.

This prohibition shall not apply to shelter or housing provided in response to certain disasters such as a fire, flood, explosion, or tornado for which there has been a disaster declaration.*

Essentially, this bill addresses sanctuary city and state policy that allows schools to utilize our educational facilities, built for our students, to instead host people who are here illegally.

As our border crisis worsens, we MUST act to implement this critical legislation that will, in part:

  • Stand for student education and resources that would otherwise be diverted to accommodate this outrageous sanctuary city policy for people who break US laws!
  • Highlight the strain on local resources caused by overpopulation due to massive influxes at our borders!
  • Prioritize student safety by thwarting the housing of unvetted, potentially dangerous, illegal US border crossers!
  • Deter dangerous sanctuary policy that is impacting our students and encouraging even more illegal immigration!

In July of this year (2023), a preliminary version of HR 3941 passed the House.  Say NO to policies that place illegal immigrants ahead of students!!!

Please take action now to cut funding for K-12 schools, colleges and universities that provide housing to illegal immigrants by following the directions provided.

Thank you!
