Corrosion is a leading cause of bridges falling into poor condition, and this legislation will go a long way in addressing this issue. It will also build on a recommendation from the National Transportation Safety Board and direct the Department of Transportation to study and generate best practices for inspecting and addressing corrosion on bridges made of weathering steel.
We are proud to say that this bill has passed in the House over several Congresses, with bipartisan support. Now, we need your help to move this vital legislation forward.
