Join AGS and urge your Representative to co-sponsor the Educating Medical Professionals and Optimizing Workforce Efficiency and Readiness (EMPOWER) for Health Act (H.R. 4262), legislation that would reauthorize funding for the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) and Geriatrics Academic Career Award (GACA) Program.
As the only federal programs designed to address the geriatrics workforce gap and increase the number of faculty with geriatrics expertise across disciplines, the GWEP and GACA Program are critical to caring for older adults living with chronic disease.
Please take a few minutes to let your Representative know about the importance of reauthorizing these essential programs which expired at the end of September. Remember that the more of us call, the more powerful we are.
