Take Action: Stop Prevailing Wage Expansion in the NYS Budget
The New York State Legislature is once again pushing to expand prevailing wage laws — and this time, the impact could be even more devastating for private development and local contractors.

Under the proposed state budget, the threshold for triggering prevailing wage mandates would be lowered from projects worth $5 million or more with 30% public funding to just $3 million or more with 20% public funding. This expansion would apply to even more private projects, increasing costs, reducing competition, and making it harder for businesses like yours to grow and succeed.

We need your voice now. Lawmakers in Albany must hear directly from the contractors and employers who will be affected. Please take a moment to send a letter to your State Senator, Assemblymember, and the Governor urging them to reject this harmful proposal.

Your participation can make a real difference in protecting New York’s construction workforce and keeping opportunities open for all contractors—not just those tied to public labor agreements.
