Protect CBEs and Oppose Project Labor Agreements!
Dear CBE Community:

This is urgent!

Councilmember Brianne Nadeau is planning to advance legislation this week that would devastate CBE construction firms by expanding the use of discriminatory Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) in the District of Columbia.

PLAs exclude CBE businesses from projects that our tax dollars pay for.

Here are the possible projects in the District’s Capitol Plan that will effectively exclude CBEs if the Council passes Bill 25-469.

  1. St. Elizabeth's Campus Infrastructure
  2. New Communities – Barry Farm, Park Chester, Wade Rode
  3. Community Economic Development Project – Hill East
  4. Green Elementary School Modernization
  5. Langley Elementary School Modernization
  6. MLK Elementary School Modernization
  7. Drew Elementary School Modernization
  8. Burroughs Elementary School Modernization
  9. Whittier Elementary School Modernization
  10. Francis Stevens Elementary School Modernization
  11. Simon Elementary School Modernization
  12. Adams Education Campus Modernization
  13. Hendley Elementary School Modernization
  14. The Complex at RFK
  15. Powerline Undergrounding Master Project
  16. DDOT Safe Streets for Students
  17. Long Bridge Pedestrian Bicycle Connection

To make matters worse, Councilmember Nadeau is planning to exploit a Council rule to move the bill without holding a hearing on it.  It’s outrageous!

We need your help to tell the D.C. Council to oppose discriminatory PLAs today. Take action at the link below.
