This AAPM&R-endorsed legislation is being led by Senators Tim Kaine, Ed Markey, and Tammy Duckworth in the U.S. Senate. The CARE for Long COVID Act would improve research on Long COVID and provide resources for patients with Long COVID and their providers.

An estimated 10-30% of individuals infected with COVID-19 develop Long COVID, regardless of whether they exhibited COVID-19 symptoms. Due to the high infection rate in the United States, anywhere between 8 to nearly 24 million Americans are likely to experience these varied and often debilitating symptoms long-term.
