The concurrent resolution condemning the Iranian regime's human rights abuses against the brave women and men of Iran peacefully demonstrating in more than 133 cities was passed in the House by a vote of 420-1 in January 2023. For the concurrent resolution to move forward, S. Con. Res. 2 must be agreed to in the Senate.
In addition to expressing support for the courageous Iranian protesters demonstrating for their freedoms, the bipartisan resolution also condemns the brutal beating and death of Amini and the violent suppression by the Iranian regime of women and men participating in demonstrations. Finally, the resolution encourages continued efforts by the Biden Administration to respond to the protests, including the recent sanctioning of the Iranian morality police.
Please use our pre-drafted letter to urge your representative to co-sponsor and support S. Con. Res. 2. If they have already sponsored or co-sponsored the bill, you can send a message of thanks.
