The Future of Radiology in 2025: Mark Isenberg Talks Policy Changes at RSNA
January 7, 2025 by Megan Boyd

At the 2024 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, Mark Isenberg, Executive Vice President of Healthcare Advocacy at Zotec Partners, had an insightful conversation with Dave Fornell of Radiology Business about the major healthcare issues and policies that could shape radiology in 2025.

As we get into 2025, a few important topics that Mark Isenberg discussed in the interview include:

  • The No Surprises Act and independent dispute resolution: Ongoing issues with insurers delaying payments, despite physicians often winning disputes.
  • Medicare reimbursements cuts: Medicare payments continue to decline, creating financial pressure for all areas of healthcare.
  • Expanding insurance coverage for breast imaging: Legislation (U.S. HR 3086) could improve access to early and advanced breast cancer screenings, making these life-saving screenings more affordable and accessible nationwide.
  • Telehealth and remote imaging regulations: With telehealth on the rise, adapting to new rules about licensure and data privacy is crucial for physicians.
  • Potential shifts under the Trump administration: Mark shared his thoughts on how the new administration might approach healthcare reform and what that could mean for radiology.
