Congress is just 10 days from the government funding deadline and the final day of the 118th Congressional session. With limited time remaining, Congress must address their packed agenda before unresolved issues are deferred to the next session. Among the priorities are funding the government and addressing critical healthcare issues. As the clock runs out, a year-end Continuing Resolution (CR) has become the most likely vehicle to address pressing concerns – including essential healthcare provisions.
One urgent issue is the looming cut to Medicare reimbursement rates scheduled for 2025, which would mark the fifth consecutive year of reductions for physicians. Over time, this trend has created an unsustainable reality for physicians, healthcare providers, and healthcare facilities, threatening patients' access to essential, high-quality care.
Thanks to your advocacy on our previous call to action, we have seen a significant growth in the number of cosponsors on H.R. 10073, which represents a critical step toward reversing these cuts. This bill would eliminate the –2.8% reduction to the Medicare conversion factor and provide a +1.8% increase to better reflect rising practice costs.
Now, we need your voice again. Passing standalone healthcare legislation is highly unlikely in the remaining days of this session. Instead, the best chance for meaningful action lies in including provisions of H.R. 10073 in the year-end funding bill.
We are grateful for your efforts to urge Congress to support H.R. 10073 – thank you! Now, we need your help once more. Contact your lawmakers today and urge them to include the provisions of H.R. 10073 in the year-end funding bill.
Time is running out – take action now!
