Exploring the Evolving Landscape of the No Surprises Act (NSA)
April 25, 2024 by Megan Boyd

In the complex world of healthcare policy, the No Surprises Act (NSA) has become a prominent discussion topic since its inception on January 1, 2022. With stakeholders expressing concerns and legal challenges arising, the implementation process has been difficult.

To address these concerns, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) proposed reforms to the Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process in October 2023. This proposed IDR Operations rule has not yet been finalized, but the rule contains important reforms to the IDR process that the healthcare community has been advocating for since the NSA went into effect.

While we wait for the proposal to be finalized, it is important to remain informed and engaged. For a deeper exploration of these developments and comprehensive insights, listen to our latest Zotec Answers podcast. In this episode, Ed Gaines discusses the latest developments in the NSA rule-making that could improve the overall IDR process.
