Now more than ever, America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural homeowners need access to affordable credit to invest in their livelihoods and communities. With the agricultural economy under stress and 69% of young farmers and ranchers citing access to capital as a top challenge, our nation’s agricultural communities deserve a solution.
The Access to Credit for the Rural Economy (ACRE) Act aims to ease this burden for rural America by promoting greater access to credit and reducing borrowing costs for agricultural producers.
The ACRE Act would exclude from gross income the interest received by lenders on loans secured by farm real estate and aquaculture facilities, as well as home mortgage loans that do not exceed $750,000 in rural communities of no more than 2,500 people.
Stand up for America’s farmers and ranchers and encourage your lawmakers to cosponsor S. 838 and H.R. 1822, the ACRE Act.
