SAMHSA Releases New Guide for Expanding Community-Based Behavioral Health Workforce
December 12, 2024 by Daniel Herron, Public Policy & Government Affairs, Vibrant Emotional Health

At Vibrant Emotional Health (Vibrant), we are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that improve mental health and address behavioral health disparities. Earlier this month, SAMHSA released a guide for expanding the Community-Based Behavioral Workforce, which highlights the critical roles of Community-Initiated Care (CIC) and Behavioral Health Support Specialists (BHSS) in underserved communities. This guide provides valuable information about BHSSs, best practices for expanding CIC, and essential resources for communities and policymakers working to ensure the well-being of their communities.

Vibrant continues to champion efforts like these, working tirelessly to create opportunities for better mental health and equitable care for everyone.
