On December 5, 2024, Vibrant Emotional Health (Vibrant) submitted comments to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on the draft Model Behavioral Health Crisis Services Definitions. As outlined by SAMHSA, the goal of the document is "to clarify and distinguish the different types of crisis services for people across the nation." Vibrant outlined recommendations to clarify the service elements that comprise the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline as well as other crisis system components such as someone to respond and a safe place for help.
