On August 28th, Laura Evans, AVP of Public Policy & Government Affairs (PPGA) at Vibrant Emotional Health (Vibrant), hosted episode 187, “CIT in Action,” of the 988 Crisis Jam, an online learning community of partners in the mental health field who work together to discuss issues affecting mental health, elevate resources in the field, and highlight individuals and groups that are promoting and performing best practices.
During this week’s meeting, attended by hundreds of participants and live-streamed to the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Conference, Laura moderated conversations with many individuals. These included Michele Saunders from CIT in Action, various participants at the CIT conference, Tom Betlach speaking on Medicaid, and Saanvi Arora, a teen who helped write the Senate’s new resolution on youth mental health. In the “Lived Lens” segment, Bo Hall spoke from the CIT conference about the “Promise of Care That Feels Like Care,” providing his perspective on his journey from being homeless to becoming a paramedic.
Laura is a regular host of the 988 Crisis Jam, a testament to her expertise and commitment to the field. You can be part of this engaging and informative community every Wednesday from noon to 1 pm ET by registering here.
